The Genesis Chapter Two Relationship: Soul-Mate Prototype

What really is the concept of ‘Genesis Chapter Two’ in a relationship? It is

God’s original design. As I have mentioned in an earlier post, Genesis Chapter Two refers to complete and absolute bliss in your relationship. It is a relationship with God in the picture from the very beginning till forever; where God is honoured, respected, consulted from time to time, with the partners living directly under the very gaze of God. Let’s explore this a little further.

Soul-mates

A while ago, I spoke about soul-mates, explaining that this is what exists between a man and his wife. When a man and a woman are married, they are believed to be in love with each other. They live in the same house and share or have everything in common. They communicate and relate with each other. In fact, even when either of them is away at work or on a trip, they keep in touch, one way or the other. The emergence of cell phones and the use of social media like WhatsApp, Facebook and the likes have only made this a whole lot easier.

Couples who are truly in love with each other cannot do without each other. They could be said to be trapped in love. Shakespeare once said that “Love is blind”, and I’d want to interpret this as that the couple is blind to each other’s faults and weaknesses, but look out for each other at all times. This is why they are soul-mates. This is the Genesis Chapter Two type of relationship, God’s own brainchild.

Do you know that this is how it is between you and God? Consider the following about the love of God:

©      The love God has for you cannot be quantified.

©      It is this love that purchased your salvation.

©      This love didn’t put into consideration whether you would ever accept Him or not.

©      This love never put into consideration whether you would reciprocate the love or not.

©      His love for you is exhaustless.

©      His love for you is one of an immeasurable kind.

©      His love for you is one that is equal to any emergency.

©      His love for you is able to keep you secure.

©      His love doesn’t care whether you are the worst person on earth.

©      His love doesn’t care whether you are the most degraded person on earth.

©      His love doesn’t care whether you are an outcast.

The thing is, God has given His love for the whole world, for every man (John 3:16); and every man, living or dead, has chosen to do whatever he likes with it, whether to accept Him or to reject Him. How about you, after all He has done for you? Evidently, He sees you as His soul-mate; that is why He would go all the way for you, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:8). But the question is, do you see Him as your soul-mate?

Now, here, in the Genesis Chapter Two type of relationship, the partners are in love, not just with each other, but with God. Herein lies the power of love.

We shall be seeing more about the power of this love in my next post. Do leave your comments and questions in the comment section. God bless you!
