Landing the Ideal Partner

Happy New Year, everyone, and thanks for always checking in. I want to believe you have been blessed so far by what you have been gleaning from this blog. God has been faithful in seeing us through the year 2022, and 2023 promises to be a year of great things we shall be raking in. For everyone trusting God to land the ideal partner this year 2023, I join my faith with yours that you shall testify, in Jesus' mighty Name. Amen.

We began looking at who the ideal partner is last week, and I want to pursue this a bit further today. What are the things you need to do to land the ideal partner?

I ended last week's post by saying that you must be a lover of God. This point is so important that every other thing I'd be saying here hinges on it. You must be in love with God and the things of God – genuinely. Deuteronomy 6:5 tells us this:

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might (King James Version).

Remember that God is your Father and, as a Father, He would gladly give you whatever He knows is good for you. the same love you'd lavish on your earthly father (and more) is what you should lavish on God, especially as He first loved you (John 3:16; 1st John 4:7-8).

Secondly, you must be filled with the Holy Spirit for guidance to the ideal life partner. He can never lead you astray. You have Him with and in you already; but you must be filled with Him afresh on a regular basis in order to keep fit spiritually. When this is the case, you will have Him guiding your every move. The Book of John 16:13 tells us this:

But when the truth-giving Spirit comes, he will unveil the reality of every truth within you. He won’t speak his own message, but only what he hears from the Father, and he will reveal prophetically to you what is to come (The Passion Translation).

Similarly, the Lord speaking in John 14:16-17 told the disciples:

And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Savior, the Holy Spirit of Truth, who will be to you a friend just like me—and he will never leave you. The world won’t receive him because they can’t see him or know him. But you will know him intimately, because he will make his home in you and will live inside you (The Passion Translation).

Thirdly, you must maintain a life of purity to be able to land the ideal life partner. You must come clean with God and intentionally decide you won’t go about sleeping around or engaging in other dirty sexual acts like pornography, masturbation, homosexuality, lesbianism and bestiality (etc.) before the ideal life partner can come. Paul, in 1st Corinthians 6:12, 15-19 (King James Version), states:

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any...

Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

In the same vein, Paul, speaking to his spiritual son in 2nd Timothy 2:22 (King James Version), said:

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

I think I like the rendition of the above passage in The Passion Translation:

Run as fast as you can from all the ambitions and lusts of youth; and chase after all that is pure. Whatever builds up your faith and deepens your love must become your holy pursuit. And live in peace with all those who worship our Lord Jesus with pure hearts (emphasis mine)

When you have all of these in place in your life, then I believe you are no doubt on the right track and set to meet the ideal partner. What do you think about this? Let us know in the comments section below; and if you have questions or meaningful contributions that would be a blessing to someone, do feel free to share with us. Also, if this post has been a blessing to you, you'd be doing well to share the link with other young people you know. The more young people we reach, the more we rescue from the scourge of sexual sin together.

For my next post, I shall be pursuing the subject of lasciviousness, the spirit that is still very much at work messing up the lives of young people. Sadly, anyone who is not spiritually rooted in God is simply swept away with the tide. And this did not just begin today. Examples abound even in Scriptures. How is this? Join me next week, and let us explore this together. God bless you!
