On this beautiful day, with love in the air all over the world, I want to wish you, my readers, a Happy Valentine’s Day celebration. All over the world today, people are getting requests to be somebody’s Valentine, or asking someone to be their Valentine. Sadly also, many would be having their virginity slaughtered today on the altar of wanton lasciviousness in the name of Valentine’s Day celebration; but it is my earnest desire that you meet with Jesus today, the one Person Who is a die-hard lover of your soul. Today’s post however is a special edition, specially for you, to spice up your day. You know why? Because the greatest Being in existence is your Lover. Yes, Jesus is your Valentine.
Scriptures tell us that “...He first loved us...” and also that “...God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son...”.So what should you do with this? What should you do about this? You should be completely sold out for God; yes, lock stock and barrel. How indeed can you even flee from a life of sin if you are not? Or how can you even make the decision to not commit any sexual sin if you are not sold out for God? Beloved, to be sold out for God is to love God. What does this mean? It means you must love the Lord, even to the death. You must be a die-hard for God. Whether you consider it easy or not, it is a fact.
Consider the words of three young men who at the face of impending, certain death, still stood their ground for God. King Nebuchadnezzar was speaking to them. He said:
Now
if you are ready, on hearing the sound of the horn, pipe, harp, trigon,
psaltery, bagpipe, and all sorts of instruments, to go down on your faces in
worship before the image which I have made, it is well: but if you will not
give worship, that same hour you will be put into a burning and flaming fire;
and what god is there who will be able to take you out of my hands?
Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego, answering Nebuchadnezzar the king, said, There is no
need for us to give you an answer to this question.
If
our God, whose servants we are, is able to keep us safe from the burning and
flaming fire, and from your hands, O King, he will keep us safe.
But if not, be certain, O King, that WE WILL NOT be the servants of your gods, or give worship to the image of gold which you have put up (Daniel 3:15-18, Bible in Basic English, emphasis mine).
Amazing display of
love for God, even in the face of certain, gruesome death!
Job also literarily made the same declaration:
THOUGH
HE SLAY ME, YET WILL I TRUST IN HIM: but I will maintain mine own ways before
him.
He
also shall be my salvation: for
an hypocrite shall not come before him
(Job 13:15-16, King James Version, emphasis mine).
He maintained that
he will trust on, no matter what; he would hold on to God, despite what he was
going through. Then he added that God does not take delight in hypocrites. What
does this mean?
It doesn’t matter how much church activities you are involved in, or how many church slogans you use in your speech or anything of the sort; if your life is not aligned with Him, if you are not fused into and enmeshed in Him, molded into one dough, if you are not completely sold out for Him, then you have no part with Him.
Similarly, the apostles
of the early church displayed the same passion, proving they were equally ready
to die for the Lord’s cause:
So they had them brought back in before the council, and they commanded them to never teach the people or speak again using the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “You can judge for yourselves – is it better to listen to you or to God? IT’S IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO STOP speaking about the things we’ve seen and heard!” (Acts 4:18-20, The Passion Translation)
Imagine that! The three Hebrew boys said, “We will not...”. Job said, “Though He slay me, yet...”. The apostles said, “It’s impossible for us to stop...”. What will you say, if ever faced with the kind of challenge these ones faced? Will you still be standing? Will you make Heaven and yourself proud? Will I? This is something to chew on.
The good news is
that all of these people who declared and displayed their love for God even to
the death didn’t die at those occasions. When you are sold out for God, you
have nothing to lose, but definitely everything to gain. The love for God will
always prod you on to the right path, and to do the right thing and, therefore,
secure your relationship and eventual marriage with your partner.
So above all,
CONSTANTLY seek God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, then all these less
important things will be given to you ABUNDANTLY (Matthew
6:33, The Passion Translation, emphasis mine).
The word “constantly” speaks of consistency, and this is what delivers abundance to you. In other words, when you are consistent in your walk with God, He reaches out to you to bless you abundantly.
So, this is what I have for you on this special day. You may leave your comments and questions below. God bless you richly, and Happy Valentine's Day celebration once again.
