A Lesson in Hiding: Your Sexuality and You

There is a lesson in hiding. The Bible speaks about

Abimelech, born to Gideon (Jerub-Baal) by a concubine, in Judges 9:5. It says that

He went to his father's home in Ophrah and murdered his half-brothers, the seventy legitimate sons of Jerub-Baal, on one stone. Only Jotham, Jerub-Baal's youngest son, escaped, because he hid (New English Translation, emphasis mine). 

You’d have to read the entire chapter, or even begin from three chapters ago, to understand how the story started. But then, looking at what we have here, if Jotham hadn’t hidden himself, his destiny would have been cut off by his (wicked) half-brother.

Although the above Scripture doesn’t have anything to do with sexual feelings, it can be related. You see, when you hide, you escape death – spiritual death, physical death and the second death.

Spiritual death simply has to do with being separated from God as a result of sin. There are many out there today in this state of being: they are living their lives as they please, with no thought of God – separated from God. Physical death is… well, we all know physical death, which affects the body: the spirit (or soul in this case) leaves the body, the person stops breathing and the soul goes to the Maker. Second death is to be eternally separated from God on the Day of Judgment and cast into hell.

A lot of single ladies out there need to learn how to hide their sensitive body parts, as exposing them can be dangerous both to them and to the men they entice thereby. How is this?

·        Such ladies, in doing so, lose self-respect from people who believe in decency and the need to uphold self-worth.

·        Such ladies are living in self-deception and/or deluded by the thought that they are living the real life; whereas they are living a fake life.

·    

Such ladies are deluded by the thought that they are out to attract for themselves the man of their dreams when, in reality, by their actions and behaviour, they are repelling the ideal, potential life partner far from them.

·        Such ladies attract the wrong people to themselves, people like them, out to destroy them; people who have hit the self-destruct button in their lives, just like such ladies.

·        Such ladies become an easy tool in the hands to the devil to wreak havoc in the lives of others we may term spiritually weak; hence, dragging their souls to hell, as earlier mentioned.

·        Such ladies expose themselves to sexual harassment and could fall victim to rape from men who are randy savages, unable to control their sexual drive.

·        When you dress anyhow, you miss a lot of favour; the real thing, which will give you lasting joy, will never come your way.

Do you know how many men lust after you when you live like this, when you walk along the road or sit in a bus, shamelessly exposing your sensitive body parts? When you live your life like this, it is clear that you are far from God; therefore spiritually dead (as explained above) and in danger of the second death when physical death comes knocking.
